Brackets are bonded to teeth and connected by a wire, adjusted at periodic visits, with elastics added when bite correction is needed. Expect mild pressure for a few days after adjustments, a short list of foods to avoid (hard, sticky, chewy), and extra attention to brushing around brackets, which we will coach thoroughly. Typical comprehensive treatment runs 18 to 24 months, followed by retainers to hold the result.
