By seven, enough adult teeth have arrived to reveal how the bite is developing. Most children screened need nothing but monitoring. A minority benefit from early (Phase 1) guidance, where a small intervention while the jaw is growing, holding space, correcting a crossbite, prevents a much larger treatment later. Catching that minority is the entire point of screening early.
