Knowing exactly what will happen takes the edge off any first appointment. Here is the honest play-by-play of your first hour at Blue Bird Dental.
Minutes 0–10: The Welcome
Arrive about ten minutes early. Our front desk confirms your details and insurance, answers questions, and hands you nothing more intimidating than a clipboard. Coffee-adjacent small talk is optional but traditional.
Minutes 10–30: The Complete Picture
A comprehensive exam of your teeth, gums, bite, jaw joints and existing dental work, an oral cancer screening (two quick, comfortable minutes), digital X-rays only where they genuinely inform your care, and intra-oral camera photos displayed on the chairside screen so you see exactly what we see.
Minutes 30–45: The Conversation
Your dentist walks through the findings in plain language, on screen, answering every question. If treatment is recommended, you will understand what, why, in what order, and what it costs, in writing, before anything is booked. No pressure and no mystery are house rules.
Minutes 45–60: Your Plan (and Often, Your Cleaning)
Depending on scheduling and your gum health, a hygiene cleaning frequently happens the same visit. You leave with a clear plan, your next appointment if you want one, and, we hope, the sense that this was easier than expected.
