What Is the Solea Laser?
Solea is a computer-guided, all-tissue CO2 dental laser. It may be used on selected hard tissue (enamel and dentin) and soft tissue (gums). For many suitable procedures it may reduce the noise and vibration associated with a conventional drill, and in some suitable cases local anesthetic may not be required. Conventional instruments or local anesthetic may still be required, depending on the tooth, the material involved and the clinical situation.
Procedures That May Be Suitable
Depending on your case, Solea may be used for selected dental fillings, selected gum procedures, gum contouring, frenectomies, and other appropriate soft-tissue procedures. Your dentist will confirm at your visit whether your specific procedure is suitable for laser treatment.
Potential Benefits
For selected procedures, patients may experience less drill noise and minimal vibration. Some suitable fillings may be completed without local anesthetic. Treatment may be efficient in selected cases, and individualized post-treatment instructions will be provided. Is Solea Right for Every Patient or Procedure?
