The Cheapest Dentistry Is Prevention

Every crown, root canal, and extraction we perform began, at some point, as a small problem that could have been caught earlier. Preventive care is how we keep you on the inexpensive, comfortable side of that line, and it is the foundation of everything we do at Blue Bird Dental.

What Prevention Includes

Professional Cleanings

Thorough, gentle removal of the plaque and tartar that brushing cannot reach. Teeth Cleaning

Comprehensive Exams

Regular examinations of your teeth, gums, bite, jaw joints, and existing dental work, supported by digital X-rays and intra-oral camera images so you see everything we see.

Oral Cancer Screening

A quick visual and tactile screening at every check-up. Two minutes that can save a life. Learn about Oral Cancer Screening

Periodontal (Gum) Care

Gum disease is the leading cause of adult tooth loss, and it is largely preventable and treatable when caught early. Periodontal Therapy

Home Care: Your Half of the Partnership

What happens in the 363 days between your cleanings matters as much as the cleanings themselves. Our hygienists coach you on technique, not just habits: brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste at a 45-degree angle to the gumline, daily flossing or interdental brushes, limiting sugar frequency (how often matters more than how much), and replacing your brush every three months. We tailor recommendations to your mouth, including electric brush selection, fluoride rinses, and products for dry mouth or sensitivity.

How Often Should You Come In?

For most patients, every six months. For patients with gum disease, a history of heavy tartar, or certain medical conditions, every three to four months protects your health better. We will recommend an interval based on evidence from your own mouth.
